# Hitchpost

> Rental software for event and equipment rental companies that works without internet.

Hitchpost runs rentals at events and rental yards from any tablet, laptop or phone, with or without a signal. It covers online booking and pre-registration, checkout and returns at any gate, cash drawers, collateral such as licenses and keys, card payments and deposit holds on a Square Terminal or Stripe reader, license scanning, GPS tracking with area alerts, repairs, staff hours, and a console for owners and managers. Saved rentals are never edited; corrections are added as new entries. AI assistants can connect through MCP with read-only keys by default.

It was first built as the gate software for Mobility Concepts at the North Carolina State Fair. Pricing is by quote. Hitchpost is made by Firmkit (FirmKit LLC) in Cary, North Carolina.
